“Great man, doing fantastic work…” ISRO Chief Somanath lauds Elon Musk for SpaceX catching Starship

New Delhi, Oct 28 (ANI): Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chief S Somanath lauded SpaceX founder Elon Musk for his innovations in space sector, days after he stunned the world with novel catch-landing method of Starship booster. “Elon Musk is making heads turn with his types of rockets, that he captured with chopsticks recently. People are asking when will ISRO do this. He unsettles all of us. Not me alone, it is happening all across the world, it is happening to Europeans, Russians and Chinese, everyone is watching Elon Musk,” said Somanath at an event at IIT Delhi on October 26. “Everybody wants to beat him but he is above all. He is a great man, doing fantastic work and we are all inspired by his work,” Somanath added. Somanath’s praise for Musk comes after SpaceX in its fifth Starship test flight on Sunday (October 13) returned the rocket's towering first stage booster back to its Texas launch pad for the first time using giant metal arms, achieving another novel engineering feat in the company's push to build a reusable moon and Mars vehicle.
