Chasing the Ice: Moscow Students Embark on Polar Expedition of a Lifetime

Moscow (Russia), Feb 20 (ANI) Students from Moscow schools and colleges became newcomers to polar exploration, and spent three weeks on the most mysterious and hard-to-reach continent on Earth. Endless glaciers and snowy plains. The monotonous but captivating landscape unfolds from the cockpit window of the IL-76 aircraft. It heads towards the most enigmatic continent on earth. On board, traveled a unique expedition with Moscow school and college students as participants. A total of 13 brave youngsters led by experienced traveller Matvey Shparo. Each of the novice polar explorers had to pass a tough selection process, as there were more than 32,000 people who wanted to be near the south pole. They had to complete a thematic dictation test, after which 1,500 candidates were allowed to proceed to other stages from professional skills competitions to training camps. But here, in the middle of the frost, new challenges awaited the best of the best.
